Matthew 1:24 “And Joseph awoke from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took Mary as his wife.”

The world was about to be fundamentally transformed. The relationship between God and man would be forever changed. The promise of Savior was about to be fulfilled in a way no one expected. Yet all of it, everything that was about to happen, began with an act of human obedience. First Mary was obedient when she encountered the angel Gabriel, then Joseph when God spoke to him in a dream.

How amazing is it that even in the most extraordinary act that God would ever perform, He still chose to work through His people?

The things Mary and Joseph were asked to do were hard. They risked being social outcasts and shunned by their families. They risked losing their business and their livelihood. They risked a life of isolation and ridicule. They even risked death for having a child out of wedlock. And still they said yes.

God took this simple act of obedience and multiplied it exponentially. What crazy thing is God asking you to do? What risk is He asking you take?

How will world be different if you say yes? How would it be different if you said no?
